Overview

Snyder & Associates is an Iowa-founded, multidisciplinary civil engineering, planning, and design firm serving clients throughout the Midwest and nationwide for over 45 years. Today, we deliver our services through 13 locations in five states to a diverse range of clientele. These services include transportation, municipal services, public spaces, water. land development, and structural. Many of our projects are designed using the Bentley suite of design software. It is essential to our work that we leverage the Bentley software to its capabilities. The design automation specialist will play a key role in our efforts to do this.

 

This individual works primarily on programming custom solutions required to meet Company preferences and standards, and establish procedures and tools required to make design CAD technicians efficient in their work on projects. They will analyze new software products to determine company fit and widespread usage and work with production staff and managers to establish value in each enhancement. They will be a responsive individual to internal help desk tickets submitted by users and may be called upon to assist in highly complex project assignments as a liaison between the design technician and the software. 

Responsibilities

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Will focus on analysis and solutions for problems with current design technology.
  • Optimize and maintain existing software platforms for user and systems efficiency.
  • Support CAD/Design teams with technical updates and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with other staff to prepare and deliver training.
  • Will monitor emerging design technologies.

 

 

Qualifications

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Knowledge – Should possess solid knowledge of civil engineering design principles.

  • Technical Skills – Thorough understanding of software development and computer programming, research and troubleshooting skills, with a heavy emphasis on Bentley software modules.

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar capacity required. Due to the unique nature of consulting engineering and planning services, prior experience in civil engineering and specifically our industry is highly desirable.
